| (Heating, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Mechanics and Installers) Program Objective: The HVAC Residential Installer program offers a certificate in heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, & refrigeration (HVAC) trades. This is for an entry-level Installer/Apprentice position, requiring formal education and work/internship experience in an area of specialization; i.e. - residential, commercial, industrial. This program offers the training required to meet the hiring needs of HVAC contractors. Duties of the "HVAC installer" include installation and start-up of residential split-system air conditioning equipment, CACs, heat pumps and Puron systems, reading blue prints and specifications, connecting electrical wiring, duct work, and refrigerant lines, brazing/soldering, charging a system with refrigerants and check-out of proper equipment operation. Opportunities for employment in the HVAC field include: Installers, Apprentices, Helpers, Maintenance Technicians and Sheet-Metal experts. |
